Omiron Casing Design

OMIRON PROJECT BRIEF

Omiron Corporation have developed an “In-Car Electronic Device” that is capable of recording, communicating, and providing ground positioning information. This device requires an appropriately built casing that will be installed into a vehicle and house electronic components, assemblies and sub-assemblies.

THE DESIGN

The challenge presented to the design team was predominantly an aesthetic one: how could the Omiron device be appropriately and seamlessly integrated into the in-car environment? The casing had to hide all the electronic componentry and be durable, but beyond this the project was about delivering an aesthetically pleasing casing for a major electronics manufacturer with concern for the high projected volume of sales.
