Form Designs Australia collaborated with Rite Aid to develop the Medi-Bell, a safety timer designed to provide users with peace of mind by ensuring accurate dosing intervals. The device was crafted with simplicity and convenience in mind, featuring intuitive buttons and programs that easily attach to medication containers such as boxes, bottles, and blister packs using a secure hinge and elastic band. Designed for individuals with poor hearing or eyesight, the Medi-Bell includes tactile buttons, bright colours, and audible alerts for easy use. Built from durable, sustainable materials and equipped with a long-lasting battery, the Medi-Bell offers a reliable and eco-friendly solution for medication management.
The V-Comb project by Form Designs introduces a chemical-free solution for head lice removal. Inspired by how astronauts shave in microgravity, this innovative device combines a comb and vacuum mechanism to gently extract lice and eggs into a disposable filter. Featuring stainless steel teeth with rounded edges and an adjustable head, the V-Comb ensures comfort and safety for users of all ages. This groundbreaking design effectively addresses issues with traditional treatments, prioritising user safety and environmental concerns while providing an efficient solution.
The most significant innovation in this design is the sweeping mechanism that was incorporated to make the process more thorough and improve the overall performance in identification and removal. The design team also critically analysed the user requirements and discovered that adequate lighting is often a problem, and integrated a small LED light that enables the user to clearly identify and eliminate lice and eggs.
The Smart-I is a groundbreaking collaboration between Form Designs and TelemedC LLC, aimed at creating a portable device that consolidates multiple eye imaging functions into one compact unit. This innovative medical device has gained recognition from NASA, which employs it to study the effects of microgravity on astronauts' eye health during long missions in space. Its durability and portability make it ideal for research on the International Space Station, where it aids in collecting critical data on visual and vascular changes, ultimately addressing knowledge gaps and identifying risks for extended space travel.
The V-Comb A1 project by Form Designs addresses the need for an effective and user-friendly solution in head lice treatment. Traditional chemical treatments can be harsh and ineffective, prompting the development of a device that utilizes a gentle vacuum system. The innovative design of the V-Comb A1 combines a rechargeable, chemical-free combing mechanism with a vacuum that extracts lice and eggs into hygienic capture filters. This patented system not only ensures easy use but also allows for mess-free disposal, making the V-Comb A1 a convenient and safe option for families dealing with lice infestations.
Form Designs Australia created the Couple-It clip system, an innovative solution aimed at enhancing the daily lives of individuals with permanent or temporary disabilities. This product design features a simple yet effective locking mechanism that attaches securely to the sides of underwear, enabling users to dress themselves with greater independence and dignity. The design team meticulously addressed various challenges, including ensuring a reliable grip on different sizes, shapes, and materials of underwear while maintaining a balance of strength to prevent clip failure. The Couple-It mechanism is user-friendly, allowing for easy attachment and detachment, and it is thoughtfully designed to minimise skin irritations and discomfort during wear. This clever product not only meets the needs of its target users but also empowers them to regain control over their dressing routine.
Form Designs Australia worked closely with Intium Energy on the development of an innovative housing for their bearing failure monitor. The challenge of this project was to create an appropriate housing that could withstand the harsh environments of the mining industry. As their client, Intium Energy required a durable and reliable solution, and the performance of the monitor housing was incredibly important. Our design team applied advanced product and industrial design techniques to deliver a robust casing, ensuring safety and longevity, helping to detect bearing issues early and reduce downtime.
