We are pleased to announce that this week, Form Designs were awarded three prestigious accolades in recognition for outstanding design and innovation at this years GOOD DESIGN AWARDS®
GOOD DESIGN AWARD® WINNERS
The winners of Australia's peak industry design awards – the highest honour for design and innovation in the country – were announced during 2020 Good Design Week from 7th to 11th of September. The Good Design Awards is Australia’s oldest and most prestigious international Awards for design and innovation with a proud history dating back to 1958.
More than 55 Good Design Award Jurors evaluated each entry according to a strict set of design criteria which covers ‘good design’, ‘design innovation’ and ‘design impact’. Projects recognised with a Good Design Award must demonstrate excellence in all areas and convince the Jury they are worthy of recognition at this level. Dr. Brandon Gien, CEO of Good Design Australia said: "Receiving a Good Design Award is a significant achievement given the very high calibre and record number of entries received in 2020."
"There's no doubt it has been a really tough year for everyone so it's nice to be able to share some good news for a change. The projects represented in this year's Good Design Awards shine a positive light on our creative and innovative capacity as human beings. These inspirational winning projects give me hope and optimism that our design community will continue to innovate, no matter how challenging the world around us is," said Dr Gien.
“Australia’s Good Design Award is more than a symbol of design excellence - it represents the hard work and dedication towards an innovative outcome that will ultimately make our lives better. These projects showcase the shear brilliance of design and the potential it has to improve our world,” said Dr. Gien.
The 2020 Good Design Awards attracted a record number of submissions with an astonishing 835 design projects evaluated in this year’s international design awards.
STEADYRACK WINS GOLD
Form Designs and Steadyrack were awarded Good Design Award Gold Winner in the Product Design category. The Good Design Awards Jury praised the Steadyrack commenting: “A clearly considered, ergonomic solution that solves a genuine problem. It is easy to access and use with a simple minimal design. The additional capability to turn the bike closer to the wall for smaller spaces is very clever. Simple construction, relatively easy to install and easy to roll the bike onto the rack without having to lift it. A great example of good design that makes our life just a little easier. Well done. ”
CRAB CRIB WINS
2020 GOOD DESIGN AWARD®
Form Designs and Crab Crib received a prestigious Good Design Award Winner Accolade in the Product Design category in recognition for outstanding design and innovation. The Good Design Awards Jury praised the Crab Crib commenting: “A sustainable crab pot! A unique design that brakes the traditional mould of crab pots, simple and intuitive, using materials that won't rust, won't tangle and are kinder on the crabs.”
V-COMB A1 WINS
2020 GOOD DESIGN AWARD®
Form Designs and ToLife Technologies received a prestigious Good Design Award Winner Accolade for the V-Comb A1 in the Product Design category in recognition for outstanding design and innovation. The V-Comb A1 is the newest innovation in the head lice treatment field. It is a rechargeable, chemical-free device that eliminates head lice and eggs with the ease of combing the hair. Its battery-powered vacuum extracts head lice and eggs into hygienic capture filters with a hands-free disposal system.
