HOW ARE YOU?

Hello everyone, it's Victoria and while I am deviating a little from our usual Monthly Newsletters, I just want to check in and see how you are with everything happening with the COVID-19 situation at the moment. We understand that things are a little different now and the new normal is something we are getting used to but humanity is resilient and we need to remain positive! 

At our last newsletter check in, we let everyone know that we were still operating business as usual minus handshakes (and hugs) and plus a lot of hand sanitiser! However, as of the middle of March we actually set everyone up to work from home and technology is fantastic enough that it is working incredibly well (!) we have constant communication with one another via Zoom and keep each other updated throughout the day. So, if you were wondering how we are all doing, in terms of Form Designs, we are all doing well! Our focus is and remains entirely on you, our wonderful clients, and all of the amazing new products coming out of our studio! 

With everyone working from home, our office is a big, open space for just two of us girls but Katelyn and myself will continue to work from the office for the foreseeable future so know that if you contact us, we are ready to take your calls! We will also happily set up zoom calls between yourselves and our team so that your project keeps moving smoothly throughout this time - it really is business as usual! 

I have a few pictures and videos to share with you but before I do, please see a few words from Ed about the COVID-19 situation and what it means to him as an Industrial Designer and Business Owner. Also, before I go, please feel free to reply to this email or give me a call - honestly - if you feel like you need or want to share how you're feeling. Sometimes it can be nice to have somebody else to share your thoughts with and I'm always happy to lend an ear :) 

A MESSAGE FROM ED,
OUR MANAGING DIRECTOR

I am a business owner, an entrepreneur and an industrial designer and in the scenario of a pandemic, a number of things come to mind.

One: As always, I look on the bright side and wonder, is this an opportunity to take stock of what we, as human beings, have created over the centuries? Is this in fact the breather that our planet has demanded? And, is it the break that we - as entrepreneurs, business leaders and innovators - have needed to help us stop and smell the roses? 

Two: Will this make us relook, rethink and establish better, more sustainable conditions, not just in design but also in business, society and environment? 

Three: The new normal has delivered brighter sunshine, birds singing and a sky and mountains that are clear for your eyes to see. Maybe the earth is having a break, a holiday and maybe we should consider that some of the new normal needs to follow on when we go back to the way things were. 

Even though we are experiencing a difference in the way of life, there is a light at the end of the tunnel and it is even brighter than it has ever been. I can't wait - Edward. 

NEW PRODUCT: CAR SEAT GENIE

This is a new product coming out of the studio, the Car Seat Genie: protecting your car seats from all of life's little messes! Once you get these little seat clips on you'll never want to take them off. We might be a little bias (this product was designed and brought to life by Tony, Ross and Victoria) but we reckon once you've seen the video (below) you'll be sold. You might see a few familiar faces but don't worry, while it may look as though we've all found a new career path (who knew we were all actors and actresses!) we're still fully committed to Form Designs!

OUR NEW NORMAL

Say hello to our new normal! Every morning we start the day off with our morning meeting, we used to do this every day without fail, all of us around the table in the studio and we'd share a video of a new production process, a company that interested us or just something interesting and then we'd highlight our priorities for the day. We still meet one another around the table - just a little differently! :)

CHRIS MANN MUSIC…

We were introduced to this guy's videos from Simon at NOVA and it has made our day. Chris Mann has uploaded a few parody music clips surrounding COVID-19 and it brings a little bit of light to this dark time, his channel is here and they're all worth a watch, I know a number of us were in stitches watching these videos. So talented! 

This video should make you chuckle at least once but head to Chris Mann's youtube channel for more, we struggled to choose our favourite!
